Marina Cay diving - enjoy distinctive feeling
The personal nature of Marina Cay and a maximum of 12 divers per trip allows for a very flexible dive schedule. Snorkelers are welcome to go along on the boat as well. Sea Wasp, a 38' dive boat, has plenty of shade and a freshwater shower to make your day more enjoyable. Dive BVI Marina Cay also has ocean kayaks (2 person and 1 person) available daily as well as snorkel boards. Snorkel gear can also be rented by the day or week. The beach area is perfect for those just learning to snorkel as well as for the more experienced. We've seen some fantastic sights just off of the restaurant docks. Keep an eye out for lobster, eels, and the occasional octopus. If you only have time for one dive in the BVI, the RMS Rhone is it. Dive BVI have been leading dives on this spectacular wreck since 1975. Numerous artifacts deposited on October 29, 1867are still visible today. You'll also see where the 1977 film classic The Deep was shot and get to swim through the amazingly intact bow section. At least two dives are required to experience all the Rhone has to offer. Your first dive is 25 minutes at 75 feet on the bow section. After your mandatory safety stop, you'll be treated to the story of the Rhone during a 45 minute surface interval. Want to dive the Rhone on Nitrox? Only Dive BVI can provide you with a 32% blend. Maximum bottom time on the bow section is extended to 45 minutes for divers using Nitrox 32%. The second dive begins at 75 feet where the Rhone's condenser lies. A giant green moray and several octopus live in this portion of the wreck. It's generally considered good luck if you see one of them on your dive. Then it's off to see the incredible variety of artifacts that still remain on the wreck after 139 + years.
